Job Development

RISE positively impacts economic development in Tucson's downtown area by providing employment opportunities to low-income adults and people with disabilities. RISE provides services to these vulnerable populations directly, as well as through other tax-exempt organizations. RISE facilitates the creation of job training programs including direct employment opportunities.

RISE works with program participants to develop a strengths-based plan to build the skills necessary for successful competitive mainstream employment. Services are provided using tools, techniques, and materials which meet individual needs and are appropriate for the person's age and mental and physical status.

Job coaching services are provided to enable individuals to complete job training or maintain community employment. These services may include supervision and assistance with performing job tasks. Services are customized to support individuals in a variety of work environments including volunteer work, unpaid work experience, and part-time employment.

RISE program participants are employed 20 hours per week, receive valuable job training experience, and develop marketable skills. This gives participants the opportunity to acquire employment that will allow them to meet goals of self-sufficiency.

RISE recycling services keep recyclables out of our landfill and provide employment to Tucson's disadvantaged. Our philosophy is to provide a hand up, not a handout.
